Article by Showbizz.ie about Eoin’s first feauture film premiering in Dublin and somo more news about friends attending and their projects. We’ve never witnessed a move screening, never mind premiere, at The Sugar Club… Now we have. And it has to be said, it’s such a different experience and more relaxed and casual affair to screen a movie in a theatre bar. You can have a pint sitting on the table in your booth as you enjoy the feature on the big screen. What a marvel. We’re totally converted folks…And in these tight-times of recession and credit crunches, it’s great to see young Irish independent movie makers like Eoin Macken and his contemporaries getting out there and experimenting with film media and whole production, editing, scoring and everything else that goes into making a movie, process. It’s most definitely a labour of love.
Jill Flint, Freddy Rodriguez, Scott Wolf and Eoin Macken were in a joking mood when I caught up with them on the red carpet of the NBC Upfront this morning.

CHICAGO, May 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — NBC’s medical drama The Night Shift cast Eoin Macken (TC Callahan), Jill Flint (Jordan Alexander) and Ken Leung (Topher) star in a new public service message inviting people to take part in Alzheimer’s Association The Longest Day. “Here on set, our days can be pretty long, but not nearly as long as they are for families affected by Alzheimer’s. There are over five million Americans living with the disease, and more than 15 million who serve as their caregivers,” says Flint in the cast message. Held on June 21, the longest day of the year, teams around the world come together to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s care, support and research by participating in an activity that they love from sunrise to sunset.
First lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden have teamed up with the cast of NBC’s “The Night Shift” to spread the word about veterans’ health initiatives. Obama and Biden will appear on the show May 4 in an episode that’s part of an ongoing collaboration between “The Night Shift,” veterans advocacy groups Got Your 6 and Joining Forces, and the Office of the First Lady. The two also shot a PSA with cast members Eoin Macken, Jill Flint and Robert Bailey Jr. to encourage people to “change the conversation” around mental health treatment, especially for veterans and their families. …
A lovely bloke wrote up the panel at C2E2 on Friday April 24th. Here are a few of Eoin’s comments: “Asked about preparing to play a knight, Macken said, “They put you on a horse, and that’s pretty much it.” “Macken joked that being an actor allows a person “to do things you’d usually get told to fuck off [for],” with Staite adding, “And there’s that table full of free food all the time.” Macken said playing a supporting character can be “liberating” because “you can play around a little more.” “You can say, eh, I don’t really have to remember these lines,” he joked.
Eoin Macken misses his co-stars from “Merlin,” but the Irish actor says he’s currently working with an equally fun cast on “The Night Shift.” “I’ve actually been really lucky,” Macken told me April 25 at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. “I’m used to working with nice people.” …
