Eoin Macken left red-faced on Resident Evil: The Final Chapter set after believing he had no lines

Eoin told the Irish Daily Mirror: “I had an embarrassing moment on Resident Evil about three months ago when I didn’t even realise I had lines.

“I turned up on set and it was a scene with me, Milla Jovovich and Ali Larter and I thought I had none. I rocked up thinking ‘This is great, I don’t have to anything today but be in the background.’

“We stood there for a read through and Milla said her lines and I was just looking around me and everything went silent with everyone staring at me. There was a whole page I didn’t know about.”

On The Night Shift:

He revealed: “I’m having a great time – I get to jump on helicopters and ride motorbikes and say medical stuff.”

On Paddy’s in the boot:

“What we’re doing now is we’re going to take it and do a stage play version of it. We’re going to start in Ireland with it.”

‘I was left speechless’ – Eoin Macken reveals his embarrassing moment on set of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

Eoin plays Doc in the flick, which also stars Milla Jovovich along with Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose and Ali Larter.

“We were filming a few months ago and I didn’t even realise I had lines in the scene we were doing,” he told the Herald. “I turned up on set and didn’t realise I had lines with Mila. …

While he’s based in LA at the moment, Eoin (32) is hoping to return to Ireland with fellow actor Kevin Ryan to put on a play of their new short film Paddy’s in the Boot.

“We’re going to do a stage version of it during the summer, we’re looking at theatres now,” Kevin said. “The reason we want to do it is because our characters in this are really fascinating and we’re not finished with them yet.”

Eoin Macken opens up on working with Milla Jovovich: ‘I struggled to keep up with her’

The pair worked together on the final Resident Evil movie. “Milla is awesome, she has a wicked sense of humour. The movie is very fast paced and it’s very gritty. I get a lot of action scenes, I’ve a lot of scenes in it with Ali Larter and Milla. I struggled to keep up with her sometimes.”

Although his first novel, Kingdom of Scars was a success, Eoin admitted he’s not sure if it will ever get the big screen treatment.

“I don’t know if it will ever be made into a movie. I’ve adapted a book called Here Are The Young Men into a film, a guy called Rob Doyle wrote it so I’ve decided to do that first.”

The Dublin native worked alongside fellow Irish actor Kevin Ryan for Paddy’s In The Boot and the pair have plans to bring the flick to the stage. “We made this story into a short but we’re actually going to be making it into a play.”

Having spent months in South Africa tussling with Milla Jovovich and Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose, Irish actor and author Eoin Macken has returned to our shores.

Eoin, who you may recall began his career on Fair City, will star as rebel leader Doc alongside the two ladies in Hollywood blockbuster Resident Evil: The Last Chapter.

“I got to do whatever stunts they’d let me, a lot of kicking and killing in front of a green screen,” he said. “It is not as scary as the video game – I think.”

He is also working on the third series of NBC medical drama The Night Shift and The Green Rabbit and Ice Cream Girl. Before he heads back to LA, Eoin is judging the Jameson Done in 60 Second film competition in January – which lets would be Spielbergs showcase their directing chops.

“They have to try and recreate a movie we all know in 6o seconds which should be enough time to save the world, get the boy or girl of your dreams and live happily ever after,” Eoin said.

On set pictures of Eoin Macken at Resident Evil, the final chapter

“Resident Evil: The Final Chapter is the sixth instalment in the horror/action series adapted from Capcom’s iconic and much-beloved survivor-horror game series.

Also on set filming scenes in the burnt-out and hellish looking set were Eoin Macken, Fraser James, William Levy and Japanese model Rola.

With the survivors of the nefarious Umbrella company’s man-made doomsday – induced by a virus that turns people into mindless, flesh-hungry zombies – gathering in the wrecked facility, it appeared that tensions were running high as a tense stand-off at gun-point had to be defused.”
